Work is underway in Corsham, UK, to replace an ageing watermain using trenchless techniques.

Wessex Water started the work on 16 April in Neston to replace a 70-year-old watermain, which has deteriorated and suffered many bursts.

Wessex Water Project Manager Simon Lawson said “It is essential that we carry out this work to ensure that we update this section of our water supply network and minimise the future risk of bursts.

“We will use a variety of trenchless techniques to replace the main, which will significantly reduce the duration required for the work and the disruption caused.”

Work will start in Moor Green, leading to Elley Green, Moor Barton, Westwells and will be completed in Spring Lane.

The works are expected to take 22 weeks to complete.
