US-based Hallsdale-Powell will fund the project with a state revolving fund loan secured through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). The contracts have been awarded to Insituform Technologies, while the engineering firm, Jordon Jones and Goulding, will also be involved in the project.

"It's clear Hallsdale-Powell Utility District truly understands the importance of quality infrastructure rehabilitation and how it can dramatically help improve the daily life of communities, neighbourhoods and residents,” said Jordon Jones and Goulding Regional Manager David Reece.

Additional local contractors will provide the required manhole rehabilitation, lateral rehabilitation, pipe bursting and CCTV inspection services as subcontractors to Insituform.

Work on the rehabilitation project will begin in March 2010 and is expected to be completed by June 2011.
