The project will involve the replacement, relining or repair of sanitary sewer lines, as well as the removal of footing drains and the installation of sump pumps in residential homes.

Financing has been provided by a loan from the State Revolving Fund.

Westland Mayor William R. Wild said “The improvement of the City’s 286 miles of sanitary sewer lines and 6,744 sanitary sewer manholes is imperative to ensure consistent services to our residents.

“This cost effective avenue will reduce the sewage disposal costs imposed by Wayne County, while taking advantage of capital fund improvements,” he said.
