Born in Mount Vernon, Ohio, 11 July 1938, Mr Ralston was educated in Ohio, where he attended Denison University and Ohio State University. He then went on to serve is the US Air Force Reserves.

Mr Ralston married Rita Molyet on 10 October 1964.

Mr Ralston was the past Chairman of the North American Society for Trenchless Technology (NASTT) and the first ever recipient of the NASTT Lifetime Achievement Award. The award is the Society’s highest award for individual achievement.

Executive Director of the NASTT Mike Willmets said “The entire NASTT family is deeply saddened by the loss of Trent Ralston and we express our deepest sympathies to his wife Rita and his family. The trenchless industry owes much to this insightful man who gave freely of his time and energy, serving for more than six years on the NASTT Board of Directors and eventually as our Chairman in 1999. Trent was a staunch advocate of progress and could be best described as a visionary. We shall miss this true gentleman and we honour him for his guidance, his passion and his friendship.”

With over 30 years in the pipeline construction and rehabilitation industries, Mr Ralston was an entrepreneur in the trenchless industry and held a number of patents on robotic sealing devices. He was founder and president of TRB Speciality Rehabilitation Inc, which he sold upon his retirement in 1999.

Mr Ralston was a gracious man with a great sense of humour. His contribution to both the business world and his community will long be remembered.

Mr Ralston is survived by his wife of 45 years, Rita; his daughter and son-in-law; and his three grandchildren.
