The purpose of the ‘tech-day’ is to showcase the best and latest trenchless techniques in the Metz region. The event is hosted by France Sans Trenchee Technologie (FSTT), with the financial backing of the l’Agence de l’Eau (water agency), EDF (French Electric) and GDF (French Gas).
Local engineers, technicians and project managers will be able to attend an exhibition and view live demonstrations of the latest equipment and machinery.
The exhibition will be preceded by a morning conference which will discuss topics such as: • Microtunnelling • The technical, economical and environmental factors involved in the decision to use trenchless techniques. • The latest trenchless construction and rehabilitation projects in the region.
With approximately 20 exhibitors and 300 visitors, the region-specific tech-day will provide members of the industry with the opportunity to see the latest in Trenchless Technology in their own region. The FSTT has previously hosted these one-day events in Toulouse, Rouen, Cap d’Adge and Hyères.

The FSTT has also announced that they will hold another tech-day in Bordeaux in the south west of France at the end of this year.
Region specific technical days move away from the traditional larger and centralised Ville Sans Tranchée (VST) no-dig events run by the FSTT, which run for three days, showcase close to 100 exhibitors and draw almost 2,000 visitors.
