Known as SASTT-TS-TT1:2010, the standard has been published in draft form and the SASTT is now seeking comments from members and others involved in the trenchless industry.

The standard covers the insertion, by sliplining, of continuous liner pipes into existing gravity pipelines for the purpose of rehabilitation. The liner pipe is normally pulled into the existing pipeline by cable and winch and the resultant annulus between the host pipeline and the liner pipe is usually filled with grout.

The document provides a technical description of the standard of materials and workmanship that will be used in the works, including the quality of the liner pipes and grout, as well as construction techniques and testing procedures.

It does not make reference to the actions of those responsible for executing the works, nor does it deal with the commercial arrangements of contracts.
