This video highlights the ways in which Trenchless Technology is linked to environmentally friendly and sustainable development. Following an explanation of France sans Tranches Technologies (FSTT), the trenchless industry body in France, and its functions, Mr Guillerm’s discussion soon progresses into an analysis of the sustainable benefits of using trenchless technology. Please note this video is in French.
At present, only three per cent of underground infrastructure in France is installed using Trenchless Technology. This number is significantly low when compared with the corresponding figures in Germany and the US (20 per cent and 50 per cent respectively).

Article continues below…The official body for the French trenchless industry, the FSTT (France sans Tranches Technologies) is the driving force of trenchless research and information in France whose members are drawn from enterprises, local governments and utilities and individual researchers.
The FSTT will be holding two region-specific ‘techdays’ in France this year, the first of which will be held in Metz in the country’s northeast on 20 April. A second techday will be held in Bordeaux in the country’s southwest at the end of 2010.
