Take a minute of your day today to join The Big Squat in an effort to raise awareness for the 2.5 billion people who don’t have access to sanitation.
World Toilet Day is 19 November – a day to celebrate the importance of sanitation. People all over the world will be joining in a number of events to raise awareness about sanitation issues in developing countries, including The Big Squat.
Squatting is a symbol of the problems in the developing world where a lack of sanitation forces people to squat in fields, on train tracks or other open places. This open defecation is one of the worst problems facing the developing world.
